Who we are

Hi there! I’m Marie, a lifelong animal lover turned dog trainer-in-training. My love for animals began early, with memories of my nonni’s cat, who let me pet and play with as a baby. By 13, I had my first pet that mum brought home, Lexi the rabbit, who was as loyal and affectionate as any dog – and she only deepened my love for animals.

In 2021, I got my first dog, Lucie, two weeks before the COVID LGA lockdowns. Lucie’s big personality and unique needs inspired me to learn everything I could about animal behaviour, and I’m now studying with the Delta Institute to become an accredited dog trainer. Before this, I worked as a dog groomer, where I often saw how nervous or stressed dogs could be during grooming. It was heartbreaking to see their fear, and it solidified my commitment to making a difference in how pets experience care.

In early 2023, I stumbled into the role of cat rescuer. After a midnight shift, I read a facebook post about a mother cat and her 4 kittens dumped in a park and moved to a nearby construction site. My brother and I carefully gathered the tiny family, hiding them in my flat until I could move them to my partner’s place (sorry, Dad, for not telling you!). Using our own money, we cared for them, and now, we share our lives with Mama Mynx, who’s affectionate and loves a playful nibble, and her son Pedro, our shy, snuggly boy who insists on cuddles only on his terms.

I’m thrilled to be on this journey, and I look forward to helping other pet parents make life with their pets as happy and stress-free as possible!

Currently Marie is working towards her accreditation towards a Behaviour Trainer (ACM40322 Certificate IV in Animal Behaviour and Training). After this, there are plans to study stress free training to continue education on handling animals positively for their sake.

Marie has also studied ACM20117 Certificate Il in Animal Studies and knows basic animal first aid.
